It is our pleasure to invite you to the first edition of the Rencontres des Jeunes Physiciens « Édition grenobloise » or Meetings of the Young Physicists from Grenoble, promoted by the French physical society ("Société Française de Physique") and the Grenoble Doctoral School of Physics.
This event consists in a gathering of the young researchers in physics (PhD students as well as post-doctoral fellows) from Grenoble. It will take place on April 15th 2016 at the premises of Cowork (close to the tram stop Chavant).
Following the typical format of a colloquium, the meeting will revolve around the following:
- - An invited talk given by Richard Taillet
- - Three oral sessions, each of these lasting 1h30mn
- - A poster session starting during the midday buffet, and going on until the early evening
- - An awarding of prizes at the end of the day.
Aside from the invited talk, all presentations will be done by non-permanents (in English, as much as is possible) in front of non-permanents. Therefore, despite the similarities of its format with that of a regular conference, the meeting will be notably less formal. As far as the presentations themselves are concerned, pedagogy will be paramount. Indeed, the contributors will present their work to an audience of non-specialists. Contributions from the participants will be presented by an abstract following a template (which can be found on the web page of the event) so that they can be indexed and evaluated. The clarity and pedagogy of the submitted abstracts will be of utmost importance for the attribution of the oral presentations; as for the posters, these criteria remain on the foreground, even if the goal is that everyone has the possibility to present her/his work.
Attending the event is free within the limit of the number of places available. The abstract submission is done during registration (see template on the web site) before March 22nd
registration will close on April 3rd at 11:59pm.
